Autumn Trends 2022

Whether you’re a spring, summer, autumn or winter person, I think we can all agree that autumn illuminates our surroundings with the fiery colour palette and softer lighting. Let’s look at what’s trending this autumn…

Warm Colours

Autumn is known fondly for its warmer colour palette; shades of red, orange, yellow and brown are profound at this time of year. For this reason, it may come as a surprise to discover that green is also making an appearance in the autumn trends this year. Think dark, earthy shades of green paired with terracotta, burnt umber, mustard and camel, this is the perfect autumnal combination to make a cosy home. How can you apply this rich palette to your interiors? Use soft furnishings and artwork to complement your furniture. The Betty Chair has a couple of these earthy colours which look impeccable this time of year.

70’s

Yes, you read that right, the 70’s are back baby! With Scandinavian, Nordic designs becoming increasingly popular in recent times, the shapes from the 70’s offer a perfect complementary essence to any space. What is 70’s furniture and design? If you want to bring a 70’s element to your space all you must do it pick out saturated colours, wacky curved pieces and eccentric patterns. Take our Louie 2 Seat Sofa for example; add colourful scatter cushions and a bold print for the ultimate autumnal 70’s look; using the colour we picked out earlier.

Curves

This season is all about nature and what’s more natural than the curves of mother nature. Curves offer a much cosier atmosphere than harsh angles, besides you can’t snuggle up to a sharp corner, can you? Our Willow Collection has some gorgeous curvaceous pieces. The Willow Coffee Table looks great with a warm, natural centre piece, try a dried flower display or candles.

Lack of Symmetry

We spend too much time trying to make everything around us look perfect, including ourselves. Let’s just take a step back and look to nature for advice. There is nothing natural about perfection and symmetry, so why should we mimic an atypical structure. Asymmetry is a current trend this autumn, think scatter cushions, hanging lightbulbs and dispersed artwork. Instead of placing your furniture in line with each other, be more creative and utilise the space to bring character. For example, instead of placing the Bali Bed in the centre of the room, try placing it against a wall, so you can take advantage of the extra floor space.

Lights

Now that the darker months are rolling in, it’s important to pick the right lighting, especially since you will be using it a lot more this time of the year. Table lamps are a great way to bring charisma into a space. These lamps need a stylish lamp table to sit upon, why not look at our Willow Lamp Table, it has a soft warm texture, curves and can fit into smaller spaces, what’s not to like!
