Summer Trends 2022

Is it summer already? Yes, it is! Are you interested in getting ready for the summer market? This Summer the trends are becoming one with nature, as we see a rise in popularity of bringing the outdoor life, inside.

PAINT

Now that the summer light is beaming into our interior spaces, this could be the perfect time to change up the colour of your walls. This summer the trending colour palettes mainly consist of green and brown. This is the perfect time of the year to whip out your paintbrushes and get creative by painting a fresh lick of paint on your property’s tired walls. Don’t want to commit to a four-wall paint job? Why not try painting a feature wall with a gorgeous shade of terracotta or a rich shade of mint green. This way you can easily re-paint next year when the trends change again.

If you do decide to go for a feature wall, we recommend using scattered furnishings to accent this fresh new colour. If you went for a green wall, then we suggest using statement pieces such as the Mickey 3 Seat Sofa in emerald-green velvet or the Quartz Sideboard in green. If you opted for a brown wall, then the Betty Chair in terracotta is the ideal choice, or if you want more of a timeless classic statement then our Willow Range is perfect for you.

CURVES

Curves are back in this summer! Using furniture or décor to add curves to a space is usually the most efficient and effective way to do so, since rooms are often structured to be very geometric which isn’t something that can be changed. It’s no surprise that curved interior design should flourish in the summer months, as our sun – the logo of summer, is curved.

We can offer a few suggestions of curved furniture that we think will represent this summers trends perfectly. The Louie Armchair is a stylish curved chair with light grey linen fabric and solid wooden legs; the perfect combination of colour and curvature to bring the essence of summer to any space. The Lotus Table is another great piece of furniture which brings that soft curved aesthetic to a room.

NATURAL MATERIALS

Now that we can spend lots more time outdoors, we will likely be getting into the habit of appreciation for nature and quite rightly so. Natural materials such as wood or stone are the perfect way to incorporate this outdoor life within our interior spaces. Some other materials which are popular at the moment are rattan, jute, bamboo, and wicker, as we head into a more sustainable way of living these trends make it easier to be green.

Sometimes it can be sustainable to go for a wooden veneer rather than a solid wood piece. This is because the wood from the veneer can be sourced from recycled goods and using veneer means less wood is used and therefore less trees are being cut down. The Calla Stool is made beautifully from wooden veneer and the natural linen fabric of the cushioned seat compliments the wood perfectly.
